Playful learning is the teaching practice of creating a different way of learning. The focus is on creating a meaningful learning journey for children and young people which involves exploration, problem-solving, tinkering, imagination and, overall, an open-ended learning experience for pupils that promotes motivation and engagement.
The Playful learning material has specifically been developed to support schoolteachers in providing teaching on the SDGs and the work of the European Union, that takes an important responsibility in the implementation of the SDGs. But the playful activities can be used in any other school subject, as one of objectives with playful learning activities is to create motivation, participation and engagement among pupils.
The playful learning material is divided into two parts; one part that is developed for you as a teacher providing teacher guidelines and examples of concrete activities, and how you can develop and implement them. The other part is developed for pupils, where the language has been made accessible to children and where the learning activities have been described as concrete tasks and exercises that can be printed and handed out to pupils.
